Boer goat - The Boer goat was developed in South Africa in the early 1900s for meat production. Their name is derived from the Dutch word "Boer" meaning farmer.
Fainting goat - A fainting goat is a breed of domestic goat whose external muscles freeze for roughly ten seconds when the goat is startled. Though painless, this generally results in the animal collapsing on its side.
American Rabbit Breeders' Association - The American Rabbit Breeders' Association or ARBA is a national domestic rabbit breeders' club situated in the United States. While the club serves in part as a means for member breeders to make contacts, its primary purpose is to organize rabbit shows and set official breed standards for recognized rabbit breeds.
Boer Republics - The Boer Republics were independent self governed republics established by local Boers of Trekboer (migrating farmer) descent beginning in 1795 against Dutch rule & later in response to British colonialism as Voortrekkers during the period of the Great Trek beginning in 1835. The Boer Republics ceased to exist in 1900 (though only officially in 1902 with the Vereenigning Peace Treaty) when they were conquered by the British at the conclusion of the Anglo-Boer War.
